17 Strong®
Non-Discrimination Policy
17 Strong® values our community of volunteers, Victory Trip® recipients, employees, and partner organizations. We are committed to fostering a caring, inclusive environment in which every individual is welcomed, treated with dignity, and respected.
17 Strong® believes that no person who meets our eligibility requirements should be excluded from consideration for a Victory Trip®, employment, or volunteer participation on the basis of a protected characteristic or any other unlawful discriminatory reason. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion or creed, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, age, national origin or ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
This commitment applies to all 17 Strong® activities and operations, including, but not limited to, the selection and support of Victory Trip® recipients; appointment to or removal from the Board of Directors; recruitment, hiring, compensation, promotion, and separation of employees and contractors; selection of volunteers; selection of vendors; and the provision of services. It also applies to referrals to partner organizations. We will not knowingly refer individuals to organizations that engage in unlawful discriminatory practices.
Political Neutrality
17 Strong® is nonpolitical and is not affiliated with or aligned with any political party, candidate, or political movement. We will not knowingly refer volunteers or provide resources to an organization when the intended use is primarily or substantially political in nature.
Religious Neutrality
17 Strong® is not affiliated with or aligned with any religion. We welcome applications from all individuals who meet our eligibility criteria, regardless of religious belief or affiliation. We will not knowingly refer volunteers or provide resources to an organization when the intended use is religious proselytizing.
Equal Opportunity
17 Strong® is an equal opportunity organization and employer. Employment decisions—including recruitment, hiring, advertising, compensation, promotion, termination, and other terms and conditions of employment—are made without unlawful discrimination. We are committed to building a diverse Board of Directors and staff and to cultivating relationships with a broad range of individuals, partner organizations, and charitable causes in our community.
We strive to ensure that everyone who engages with 17 Strong® experiences an inclusive and welcoming environment.
